 UMLS for Unified Medical Language System, hopes to "develops and distributes multi-purpose, electronic "Knowledge Sources" and associated lexical programs" (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls). System developers can use the UMLS products to enhance their applications, mainly IN systems focused on patient data, digital libraries, Web and bibliographic retrieval, natural language processing, and decision support. as BolinOS is gaining maturity, we will definitely have to understand and look at UMLS more closely. Fornow, we don´t have the time and workforce to do so.
